After our time in Puerto Rico we took a short hopper flight to the Island of Tortola. Road Harbor is where we picked up our catamaran which would be our home for the next week. From Tortola we sailed to Salt Island where we got to scuba dive the notorious Wreck of the Rhone. After a short stop in Cooper Island we sailed to the Baths on Virgin Gorda. The Baths are one of the top sites to see in the BVI. Huge boulders on this pristine beach create caves and caverns that you can wander through. After this we grabbed a Mooring Ball at Bitter End Yacht Club for the night.
Bitter End Yacht Club
From Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda we took the longest sail of the trip to the island of Anegada or the "Drowned Island." Anegada is a small flat island surrounded by reef and contains some of the BVI's most stunning beaches.
Anegada
Cow Wreck Beach Bar
One of the coolest beach bars in the world is Cow Wreck Beach Bar on Anegada.
Bone Fishing in Anegada
One of the most sough after fish to catch on a fly rod is the illusive bonefish. We hired a guide and took the morning to go try track down a couple of these legendary fish. Despite the wind and the clouds Jeff waded onto the coral to give it his best shot. A single bone was spotted coming into the flat, he layed the perfect cast and landed a HUGE bonefish! The fish ran the distance of two football fields in seconds, Jeff almost died of happiness. On the way back Ang and her dad used some steamers and were lucky enough to catch a couple more. What a fun day!
Life on the Boat
Jost Van Dyke
Home to some of the most famous beach bars in the world Jost Van Dyke lives up to it's name. The "Party Island" is as gorgeous as a postcard and has strong drinks and good tunes. Foxy's is a famous restaurant and bar serving up some mean BBQ right on the beach.
White Bay on Jost Van Dyke is lined with beach bars including Soggy Dollar Bar, the creater of the PainKillers and One Love bar. We had a fun day drinking Bushwackers and playing on this perfectly white beach.
